Past sewing projects part 1.
I was just looking around at all the wonderful purses over on http://curlypops.blogspt.com/ and then I saw the cool buttons being given away on http://bowerbirdz.wordpress.com/ site and thought I would go ahead and show off some older pictures of the purses that I made my neices a couple of years ago. Each girl picked a main fabric. Ms. G's was a green print with flowers and Ms. M's was a red print with yellow birds on it. I then made the purse fronts and back using a stitch and flip method I learned from Barbara Randle's lovely book Crazy Quilting with Attitude. I then went and embellished them with couched trims, beads and buttons and basically had a wonderful time making them. I was thinking of making some to sell, but haven't done much with this.
The part I enjoyed the most was doing the hand work to embellish the purses.
Stayed tuned for more from my craft project vaults. I also am hoping to get some more current projects photographed to show off.
