This is my favorite film-s

My favorite film, that's a tough one to answer. All the original Star Wars movies, but especially Empire Strikes Back. Love the Blues Brothers, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The Alien films, particularly the first one and the fourth. Monty Python and Search for the Holy Grail, the first Terminator film, The Muppet Movie. There are so many movies I really like, in large part because I am a film nut. These, however, are the ones that I will repeatedly watch and can in large part either sing along with, or recite most of the dialogue. I also love the Japanese anime films by Hayao Miyazaki such as Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle.

Recently, I have been watching lots of foreign and independent films checked out from the local library. The best of these have been Pedro Almodovar's Volver and the film Quincenera which won the 2006 Sundance Grand Jury Prize. This is the song that acts as thematic motif in the film and its all about a lost love, or lost person returning. The movie is all about family and lost or damaged relationships between mother and daughter, sisters, and how much like a miracle it feels when one of these relationships is mended or strengthened.

I also love the films of Jean-Pierre Jeunet and , which include: A Very Long Engagement, Amelie, and City of Lost Children. Another favorite director of mine is Guillermo del Toro, best known for directing the big films Hellboy, and Hellboy II: The Golden Army. I also loved his Spanish language films which are a bit more personal, Pan's Labyrinth, The Devil's Backbone, and his first odd little film Cronos. I could go on for days about all the films I love, but for now these are some of my favorites.
